Mountain Home. Flaming Gorge, Utah.

Australian Cypress makes for a visually delightful floor. Cypress resists decay and termites detest the heartwood. This species also emits a beautiful aroma when planed or sawn. Pre-harvest, the cypress-pine plays well with others and is often found hobnobbing with eucalypts and angorphoras in western New South Wales. The floor pictured has been repaired after a flood in the home and was refinished with a neutral stain and a low sheen Traffic finish. Better than new! Photos: Mike Price
